Working from home vs. working outside

I’m a working from home mom who is thinking to go back to work outside. I’m a travel agent, and my business has no days or hours if I want to be successful, specially now with websites like expedia and internet discount bookings. Lately I’ve been thinking to change my career to get more flexible hours and work outside of home part time.

Well I think that in today’s world there is a lot of pressure on mothers. We do this to ourselves thank goodness for today’s politically correctness. Nobody says anything but you kind of figure out what they think from the look on their face or the smile on their lips.

In my opinion there are three type of moms, those who are homemakers, those who work from home, and those who from out side of home. All three types think their way is better. What they have to concentrate on is that their way is the best that works for them.

Personally, I was on the three types, I had my own travel agency when my son was born. It didn’t work for me, it was my own business and I had to put many hours in it. So closed the business and stayed home it was fun for a while specially when I was pregnant with my daughter. It was a bonus not to have to worry about work while pregnant. Then guess what I couldn’t stay away from work, that’s when I started as home based travel agent.

This working from home is not working for me anymore; it used to be OK when my daughter was younger. But now between the two of them the screaming I can’t work efficiently and I can’t give them my time. So I think I go back to the type that works outside.

My point is that everyone has to experience and see what works with their family and life style. Starting a family changes you and your priority. I think it takes a while to balance everything and adjust your work life and your family life together. No matter how long you have been in working field, starting over after a baby is like starting your career all over again. Nothing is the same anymore.

Until later
