I normally don’t offer ketchup to my kids except if we are eating out. They got to know we have ketchup at home when we had guests over that their daughter wouldn’t touch her food without ketchup. So now they get to have it with certain foods.
Something very creative and funny happened last night. May be creative and funny in my eyes!
We had burger for dinner so obviously, ketchup was on the table, both kids behaved very well ate and we cleaned. So far so good
I was working in the garden and my husband was cleaning the deck when I heard him calling my son in an emergency voice. ” Oh no don’t even dare .. ” then the sound of both kids crying and him saying: ” come upstairs I need your help”
I went upstairs in rush and there it was the ketchup bottle without cap in the middle of family room, some ketchup here and there. I knew my son was at it again trying new functions for items, I heard my daughter from the bathroom. Headed for the bathroon to see why she is crying, when I saw that she was the victim. He actually dumped a huge amount of ketchup on her head, dripped on her face and clothes. She was absolutely miserable but cute as a button.
My son was in his room crying and having time out and my husband came to tell me what happened. I told him bring your camera take a picture of her and the floor. He was suprised and frustrated told me :” how can you see humor in this?” Good question. I told him immediatley that he will forget the whole thing but the picture of her and that she looks so funny will be a very fun good memory of this incident.
I don’t know maybe I’m a softy, but like to record these things. I keep planning to make scarp books but never take the time to do it. All I do is taking pictures and videos. I explained to my son what he did was wrong and why, and I punished him by taking his tv time. In my heart though I was laughing loud to me this shows that he sees things outside the box and he is not afraid to try new things. My daughter will also learn to be more protective of herself.
I know my husband and I won’t ever leave the catchup bottle on the edge of the counter.
Until later,
