The potty training puzzle solved

944233_-puzzle_i.jpgPotty training the second child is totally a different story. One might say, I’ve done it with the first one I know what to do now. I have to agree and disagree. It was more difficult for me because I didn’t have the freedom I had with the first one. You have to consider the first child’s curiosity and activities too. And easier in many ways because I knew what signs to look for and how to approach.

With the first one, the first day he was completely naked from waist down. This would help him to managed sitting on the potty easier and by himself whenever he had to go. And I had the potty in his play area. Now I can’t have her naked, he wants to be naked too and he is very curious about their differences! ? Who is not? ? And I can’t have the potty anywhere but in the bathroom. Here are a few tips I picked in potty training my two toddlers a boy and a girl.

Here are some tips:

  • Start in good and warm weather. This will help in many was to manage to handle the pressure on bothe mother and child.
  • Before the initial try provide them with tools like: Potty;Pullup dippers;Underwear to look and desire to wear.
  • There is this wonderful book “Once Upon a Potty” by Alona Frankel. Its very colorful and easy to underestand for a young toddler. You can read it togerther later on the potty.
  • Remind them they have to go potty at each change time. (after the first attempt)
  •  After change take the child to the bathroom, empty the content in the toilet, and tell him that this belongs here.
  • Make it fun. I have candles and stickers in my bathroom. My kids get to blow a candle and get a sticker each time they go.
  • Be patient
  • Don’t force your child to potty train in a certain age each child has his own time
  • Look for go-ahead keys, like physical and mental readiness.See if she is developing a pattern in her bowl movement.  Notice if she goes to a quiet or a special corner to do her business. This shows she can feel what’s going on. She  chooses to go to that spot in that moment
  • Check if she shows any interest in the tools you provided
  • Don’t get disappointed. You might go back and forth. Remember you have to make it look like it’s her decision and  make it fun all the time.

They say girls are quicker to potty train than boys and I have agree.

I hope this helps you have a better potty training experience. Don’t hesitate to add new tips.

Good luck.
