The Sunday after Labour Day is called grandparent’s day. Well put. It’s the beginning of the fall and the kids are back to school. This is a chance for the kids and grandparents to join again and enjoy their company before the school year gets serious.
I’m all about family relations without my family I can’t function properly.
I think it is very important for the kids to have a close relationship with their grandparents. It will cool them down from the busy life of school and dealing with peer pressure. They can learn so many things from their grandparents that we as parents can’t teach them. I would make this day so huge, and make my kids excited about it.
When there is an event there is a party. We will have the grandparents over and there should be gifts. Hand made gifts by kids are the perfect and memorable gifts for grandparents. The kids will get involved and they have to think of that grandparent to make a special and personal gift. When they are this involved the memory of the grandparents and these occasions will remain with them for life.
I have a few gift ideas in mind:
Basket of favourite flower
Craft Butterflies for flower pot
Single picture magnet frame
Nice bookmark
Cards with favourite pictures
An essay about grandparents (my kids are too young for this)
A nice drawing
The limits are your imagination.
