I enjoyed reading this. seeing as how you are someone who does not see physical punishment as a way of dealing with misbehavior, and yet you still see the flaws and misconceptions of this bill. I'm sure Ms. Lieber has her justifications, (as do we all) and she sees her actions sensible. But for the majority of the people, we don't. I'm not one for smacking or spanking as the initial reaction (which that is who i believe this bill targets) and want to stray from it as much as possible. But like you said, it is more effective to use it according to the caliber of the situation. Cheating has a negative lifelong effect that flourishes and branches just like any other habit. So I am with you on your stance on the government's nosiness. and since when did they get to decide what is best for us? I thought we were the ones proposing bills and they were supposed to be listening to?

I agree, everyone should have equal rights. And we have to respect our children's rights so that when they grow up they respect other people's rights. Thank you for your comment.

i just wonder why we have separate laws for children than adults. if a woman is now protected under the law so that her husband cannot 'train' her in a way he sees fit according to his interpretation of his religion- then why do we allow it for children?

i agree that i do not enjoy the government in my business but i am all for equal rights. even for short people under the age of 18.
