_Nothing? Just played!

_Who did you played with?

_My friends!

_What are their names?

_They didn’t tell  me yet!

This is my conversation with my son for the past year and a half. I can’t really get anything out of him to know what exactly goes on in his preschool.

_How was school?

_Good :D

_Did you find any friends?

_Not yet!

_What did you do?

_My teacher told me not to touch the alphabet section :( She said it’s not for my age but know all the alphabet and I want to work with them :(

This is my daughter starting the same preschool today, and she was in gradual entry, spend only 1 hour in the class. Read the rest of this entry »

This is a very cute and easy craft, my kids did this jumping up and down, couldn’t wait to finish the project.

And of course then the attention was on something else!!! What should I expect from a 4.5 years old boy and a almost a 3 years old girl???

So, the craft! You need:

Construction paper

Googly eyes

Colourful feathers

Glue

Red crayon

Pencil and scissors Read the rest of this entry »

Our toddler Halloween party was a success. The kids ran around and played, there were screaming, laughter, and a lot of running.

However, the party turned out to be completely different from what I posted before. I had too much to do and a very short time so I compromised and did something simpler but with same amount of fun.

Here is the simpler version:

Instead of make it yourself pizza they had Mac and cheese with hotdogs.

Instead of foam door hangers, they decorated lunch bags with Halloween theme foam stickers to make their own goody bag.

They made pumpkin faces out of paper plat (colored in orange) and cuts of black paper in the shape of eyes and mouths. They had so much fun working with glue and get to create all different kinds of faces and they got to take the crafts home. Read the rest of this entry »

desert

I made this for my son’s Halloween party. I’m not a fan of pudding specially a chocolate one, but the kids loved it and thanked me for it, even a few days after.

It is very simple, you need:

Clear disposable cups

Chocolate pudding

Chocolate cooking crumbs

Melted chocolate

Oval shape cookies

Halloween candy

Worm gummies

White writing icing in tube

Direction:

Very simple, make the pudding as per package; fill the cups with layers of pudding and chocolate cookie crumbs. Dip the cookies in chocolate and let it set for a minute. On the top one third of the cookie write “RIP” with the white icing. Place the cookie in the pudding so that almost bottom one third of the cookie is in, decorate with Halloween candy and worm gummy. I had skull and bone candies.

I had one of the kids saying with excitement: “ I’m a monster, I’m eating bones and skulls!!”

The whole thing took about 20 minutes. This was a surprise but this can be a fun thing to do with toddlers.

Happy Halloween

halloween

My son(4.5 years old) is obsessed with Halloween. He is been preparing since Labor Day weekend. We are crossing each day on the calendar now to make sure we are getting closer to Halloween!!  He had a special secret Halloween sometime in September and since then he can’t stop thinking or talking about it.

I know he can’t handle waiting for Halloween, it is too much for him, so I agreed to throw a Halloween party for him and two of his bodies from preschool. This Sunday we will have our SPECIAL Halloween party. We are going to have bouncing bats from door frames, spider and spider webs where ever possible inside and outside the house, and of course pumpkins, and ….

For party games, we will have balloons with prize inside for each kid to pop and get the prize. I was thinking of finding creepy objects in dim light. Another game would be shape your pumpkin face. I have bought an orange, and a black felt fabric, to cut out a pumpkin, and different shapes of eyes and mouth for them to create their own pumpkin face in turns. I’m going to take a photo of each creation and print it for them to take home.

For craft, they will have door hanger and foam Halloween stickers to decorate and take home.  I think one craft is enough for boys, but I will have salt dough and cookie cutter in case they were interested.

Here comes the fun part, treats, they will have made it yourself pizza. I’m thinking to add orange food coloring to the pizza dough and make eye and mouth with vegetables and pepperoni and let them create their own pumpkin pizza. For desert, they are going to have chocolate pudding in cup with a tombstone cookie.

I’m all set for kids it’s the moms I don’t know how to serve. I’ll manage something.

Until later,
